For those who can't sleep sometimes

CITY AND COLOUR SLEEPING SICKNESS

The Museum of Broken Relationships

Originating in Croatia, this exhibition holds the trinkets and treasures of the international break-up scene. The objects that people have decided to keep are, at times, comical (this dishevelled looking gnome, par exemple) and at others, tragic (the wedding dress.Ouch)  Such is life.

FUCKED UP

David comes to Life

This song intrigues me with its incomprehensible lyrics but just sit back and listen and let it reverberate..

light steps

Darkness and light
the two sides I know
When one appears
the other hides
beneath a soul stripped of breath
darkness comes and overrides

As mind's shine comes into play
so too does the light of day
The heart swept under a dark carpet
forgotten by the house I am in
It's hard to see with a thick veil
but you don't have to see to see in

Under a lake

A glistening lake
squeezes out sorrow
in a salutory ritual
I can't bring myself to perform
It's surface calms me
because others don't
it's coolness shades me
from the heat of pain
wash over me and take me
with you
to the stony underworld
your valleys made
So I can carve into the rock
because that is all I really am

My right hand

My right hand sketches
the semblance of a soul
marred by the loss of you
It feigns awareness and ease of pen
because it has nothing else to do

It's momentarily detached from pain
and traces letters in the sun
whilst undertones of timorousness
betray the outer pretence of fun

My right hand knows nothing of it's owner
for numbness was essential for its survival
like a child or an adult loner
who tries to overcome a heart that crumbled

Our time

Our time, your time, our time apart,
let's breathe and trust instead of fight
Like truth, I look within a heart
so full of broken glass and trite

My time, your time, our time away
let's make the change in the light of day
Like man, I'm woman and you are dark,
I want to know I can make my mark

Googling Boston

I've never been but found somehow
that you can always google downtown
For the Boston Common and the Public gardens
are just a click away in another town

I've fallen in love with my new web cam
snapping streets around the New England Aquarium
As clever souls cross Harvard Bridge
I take a break and raid my fridge

This long haul travel is getting tiring
my laptop probably needs rewiring
but I don't like to be kept in the dark
so I'll take a virtual walk in Franklin Park.
