Voices in tandem
usually apart
Drawing closer
with each vocal breath
A change in tone
is all that can save us
and dissipate anger
resentment and death
A lull of pure silence
a purr of clean relief
As voices in tandem
take up their distinct beat
veering into each other
then stopping to go back
and holding their lover.
